ECS4Kids in Florida is seeking a dedicated Special Needs Assistant to provide individualized classroom support for children with special needs and challenging behaviors.

You will use the CLASS philosophy across Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support, and collaborate with teachers to keep children engaged and learning actively. The role requires DCF 45-hour training and relevant credentials.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
• Understanding effects of trauma on children's development.
• Ability to provide a supportive, caring environment and maintain discipline.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsabilités

• Provide individualized support to help children participate in activities.
• Use CLASS philosophy in Emotional Support, Classroom Organization, and Instructional Support.
• Assist teachers by keeping children engaged during large group activities.
• Interact with children to extend play and learning.
• Assist in assessments and documentation for assigned children.
• Maintain a warm, nurturing environment and follow ECS policies.
• Collaborate with staff to meet the needs of children and families.
