Job summary

ECS4Kids is seeking a Center Support Assistant to provide a warm, nurturing environment for children birth to 5 years in Ocala, FL. You will support classroom activities, follow developmentally appropriate practices, and help maintain safety, health, and documentation with families and staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED plus 45-hour DCF training; CDA is a plus. The Center Manager oversees scheduling, with opportunities for growth and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child growth and development and developmentally appropriate practices for ages birth to 5 years.
• Ability to provide a supportive and caring environment for children.
• Ability to exercise control and maintain appropriate classroom discipline.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the classroom as needed.
• Familiarize self with the day’s planned activities.
• Implement age-appropriate educational activities in small groups or individually.
• Provide a warm, nurturing environment and positive guidance.
• Develop nurturing relationships to support social and emotional development.
• Maintain federal, state, local and accreditation standards.
• Follow policies on medical and dental emergencies and medication handling.
• Ensure safety and sanitation in the classroom and center.
• Communicate with families and encourage parental involvement.
• Attend staff meetings and trainings.
