Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) is seeking a Special Investigator to conduct statewide, national, and international investigations of high complexity, including theft, fraud, embezzlement, and political corruption. The role requires independent work, travel, and detailed evidence handling.

Pre-employment AZPOST Full Authority certifications are required, with CVSA certification within 6 months. A minimum of 3 years in investigative work is necessary, and applicants must meet driver

Qualifications

• AZPOST Full Authority certifications required.
• CVSA certification within 6 months of hire.
• PAT required for Waiver Testing.
• Minimum of 3 years in investigative or detective work.

Responsibilities

• Review information, analyze data, and plan case strategy while maintaining case files and evidence.
• Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects by phone or in person.
• Travel as required, including state, interstate and international assignments.
• Engage in undercover investigations and conduct surveillance with other local, state and federal agencies.
• Prepare and serve search and arrest warrants and secure evidence.
