Job summary

Gila County Sheriff's Office seeks a Special Investigator to conduct interviews, interrogations, CVSA examinations, and investigations. You will also assist with crime scene metal detection, report submission, and program development to protect senior citizens from theft and fraud.

Requires high school diploma or GED and seven years of law enforcement and investigative experience; AZ Post Certification and CVSA credentials are preferred. Valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

Payson or Globe, AZ - Full Time

• The purpose of this position is to conduct interviews, interrogations, Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA) examinations, and investigations for the Sheriff’s Office.

• This position conducts interviews, interrogations, CVSA examinations, investigations and crime scene metal detection along with submitting reports. The Special Investigator is also responsible for promoting the welfare of senior citizens by investigating their complaints and implementing tailored safety programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conducts interviews, interrogations, CVSA examinations, criminal and applicant background investigations and crime scene metal detection; submits documents and reports.
• Investigates senior citizen complaints and actions taken.
• Implements programs for senior citizens on theft and fraud avoidance as well as personal safety, providing researched handout materials.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MinimumQualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, andseven (7) years law enforcement experience and investigative experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstates the ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job.

Professional Credentials Required/Preferred

• AZ Post Certification and Criminal Investigations Certification from the National Institute of Truth Verification for CVSA.

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License.
