Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Special Hazards Designer to support our design, sales, project management and installations. The role involves creating design drawings, preparing submittal documents for approvals, and training personnel as needed to ensure projects meet quality, schedule and budget expectations.

The ideal candidate will have NICET certification in Special Hazards, strong communication skills, and the ability to access diverse installation sites.

Qualifications

• NICET Certified in Special Hazards preferred
• Strong written and oral communication
• Trustworthy, proactive steward in pursuit of excellence
• Clean driver’s record with a current, unrestricted driver’s license
• Able to secure access to County, State and Federal installations
• Ability to pass drug screen and background and reference check

Responsibilities

• Produce design drawings for all engineered fire systems
• Provide input for estimates of design/build and pre-engineered fire systems
• Produce shop drawings and pertinent technical closing documents
• Coordinate communication between sales, project management, design and installation departments
• Supervise project database to reduce redundant files and save administrative time
• Provide guidance to installation personnel to ensure quality and on-schedule delivery
