• Coverage includes Barnes-Jewish St. Peter's and Progress West Hospital, including Telemetry, ICU, Medical, ED, and Inpatient Surgical Units

Overview

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital serves families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. The 102-bed hospital offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including the Siteman Cancer Center, Breast Health and Women’s Center, Cardiology Center, Neurosurgery Center, and Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center.

The hospital is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with Level II stroke certification and houses various specialty offices and outpatient services.

Role Purpose

Provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care.

Responsibilities

1. Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
2. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and compliance, along with professional development.
3. Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with defined goals, coordinating across the continuum of care.
4. Uses critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, respecting patient values and barriers to involvement.
5. This is a safety-sensitive position; the ability to work in a constant state of alertness is essential.
