The Alvin J. Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital and Washington University School of Medicine is a leader in cancer treatment, research, prevention, education, and outreach. It holds the prestigious Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Institute and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, being the only cancer center in Missouri within a 240-mile radius of St. Louis to do so. Division 3200 is a 25-bed unit providing care to oncology patients hospitalized for cancer treatment and symptom management, including support for chemotherapy, pain management, radiation, intervention of blood products, and more. The care provided is moderate to high acuity, involving high-complexity interventions. Care is coordinated by a multidisciplinary team including oncology nurses, advanced practice nurses, case managers, social workers, pharmacy, and psychosocial support.
Role Purpose: Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of nursing standards.
