Job summary

Pasco County BOCC is seeking a Special Equipment Operator Trainee to learn and operate heavy construction and utility equipment. The role includes learning CCTV, jet/vac trucks, and related machinery, with time spent in the field under supervision to support sewer maintenance operations.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, up to a year in utilities/public works, and must obtain a CDL Class A permit within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalency with basic reading skills.
• One year experience in utilities/solid waste or public works maintenance.
• Experience operating heavy and complex construction equipment.
• Must obtain CDL Class A permit within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, learn, and maintain sewer CCTV equipment and related vehicles.
• Assist with positioning, backing, and vehicle spotter duties.
• Maintain equipment and enter data in the EAM system.
• Attend trainings and stay current on safety and MOT requirements.
• Lift up to 80 pounds and work outdoors in varying conditions.
