Job summary

Pasco County is seeking an Equipment Operator I for Public Works to operate light trucks and maintenance equipment and perform construction-related manual labor. The role requires routine handling of a range of equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.

Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of related experience. A Florida CDL Class B with air brakes must be obtained within 90 days of hire; starting pay is $17.00 per hour, with on-site work at county facilities.

Qualifications

Must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Construction-related manual work preferred.
One (1) year of general work experience involving operation of light maintenance equipment and manual labor.
Knowledge of operation and maintenance of light-duty equipment and understanding traffic laws is required.

Responsibilities

Operates light trucks and other light maintenance equipment.
Performs manual labor, including construction-related tasks.
Performs minor repair of equipment and supports emergency response activities as needed.
Reads and follows oral or written instructions; works in various weather conditions.
