Job summary

Pasco County BOCC is seeking a Special Equipment Operator Trainee to perform skilled operation and maintenance of sewer CCTV, jet, and related equipment. The program lasts about 18 months, with advancement to a Special Equipment Operator upon successful completion and a minimum starting pay of $25.12 per hour.

The role requires lifting up to 80 pounds, driving outdoors, and adherence to safety and training requirements including Confined Space, MOT, and First Aid/CPR.

Qualifications

Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
One year experience in utilities/solid waste and/or public works maintenance and/or construction, including six months experience in operating heavy/complex equipment.
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license. Must obtain a Florida CDL Class A permit within 30 days; full license with tanker endorsement within 120 days.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain CCTV and wastewater equipment.
Locate and expose manholes for cleaning.
Enter timekeeping data in the Electronic Asset Maintenance Management System (EAM).
Attend trainings and maintain required certifications.
Work in teams under supervision and assist with maintaining safety standards.
