Family of Kidz is seeking a Special Educator Resource Room to deliver IEP-aligned instruction in multiple South Shore Nassau County schools. You’ll design individualized lesson plans, adapt materials for diverse learners, and collaborate closely with teachers and families to support student growth.

The role emphasizes data-driven instruction, ongoing progress reporting, and active participation in IEP meetings. A strong commitment to children with special needs is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires NYS Students with Disabilities Certification K-6, 7-12 (or NYS SWD All Grades)
• Experience supporting children and families preferred (1+ year)
• Bilingual skills are a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals.
• Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to student needs.
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies for diverse learners.
• Review and implement each student’s IEP mandates.
• Collect progress data and prepare quarterly progress reports.
• Maintain session notes and required documentation.
• Communicate with general education teachers regarding accommodations.
• Participate in CSE/IEP meetings as needed.
• Maintain professional communication with families and school staff.
• Create a structured, supportive learning environment.
• Implement positive behavior strategies and classroom routines.
• Monitor progress and adjust instruction based on data.
