Job summary

Marana Unified District seeks a dedicated aide to support students with disabilities under IEP guidance. The role includes one-to-one and small-group instruction, plus administrative tasks.

Responsibilities cover safety, behavior monitoring, assistance with testing, and collaboration with teachers. CPR/First Aid certification and CPI training within 6 months are required; AZ driver’s license and fingerprint clearance are also needed.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of techniques for working with persons with disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; perform math calculations.
• Proficiency in computer programs including Excel, Word and Outlook; familiarity with specialized equipment.
• Knowledge of first aid methods including CPR.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and supportive environment for students with special needs to access education.
• Accompany and assist students throughout the school day per IEP requirements.
• Offer academic tutoring/remediation 1:1 or small groups under a certified teacher.
• May transcribe instructional materials into Braille as needed.
• Assist with self-care activities (feeding, hygiene, dressing, mobility).
• Perform medical tasks under licensed medical providers’ direction (e.g., trachea tube care, gastric feeding).
• Maintain records and Medicaid billings; handle admin duties like data entry and scheduling.
