Job summary

Federal Way Public Schools is seeking a Paraeducator to support Resource Support Programs (RSP) for students with identified disabilities. The role involves one-on-one to small group instructional activities under supervision, plus clerical tasks and student supervision.

Responsibilities include tutoring, assisting with instructional and behavioral programs, communicating with staff and parents, and maintaining records while upholding district policies.

Qualifications

• Proficient in basic spelling, math and grammar skills.
• Experienced and/or training in reading instruction, remediation, and assessment

Responsibilities

• Tutor individuals and/or groups in specific skills as directed by the teacher.
• Assist the teacher in administering special instructional and/or behavioral programs when trained.
• Communicate and work with related resource personnel.
• Supervise students in accordance with school and district policies.
• Plan daily/weekly with teachers and staff servicing the same students.
• Assist students and teacher with record keeping.
• Communicate with parents and other building/district staff.
• Inform the advising teacher of observed problems or information regarding a student.
• Practice safety and security within work routines.
