Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Meet Title 1 requirements for highly qualified (pass exam or 72 college credits).
• Demonstrated positive student management strategies.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others to promote a positive environment.
• Adaptability, dependability, humor, and tolerance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct compassionate support to students with special needs during community-based instruction.
• Teach and reinforce real world skills such as handling money, navigation, social interaction, safety awareness and tasks.
• Serve as a job coach offering hands-on training prompting modeling and feedback tailored to students’ individualized needs.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, transition specialists, families, and external partners.
• Maintain detailed documentation of student progress toward IEP or transition goals and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensure safety, dignity, and empowerment for students during all community engagements.
