Job summary

The Lansing School District is seeking a Testing Teacher Consultant to support the special education evaluation process. You will collaborate with school psychologists and school-level teams to complete initial and reevaluation REEDs, administer achievement assessments, and monitor timelines.

You will communicate with families, maintain caseloads, and provide staff development to promote student success and compliance with state regulations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and prior approval as a Teacher Consultant by the Michigan Department of Education.
• Supports Special Education students and collaborates with school teams.
• Ability to work with Lead and Classroom Teachers on student behaviors and academics.
• Knowledge of learning disabilities, emotional impairments, and related assessments.
• Knowledge of Child Study Teams, eligibility criteria, and compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and oral.

Responsibilities

• Support the special education evaluation process with school psychologists and teams.
• Complete initial and reevaluation REEDs and administer achievement assessments.
• Monitor evaluation and IEP timelines and communicate with families.
• Provide staff development sessions to improve academic and behavioral outcomes.
• Maintain caseloads of at-risk learners and implement interventions.
• Attend required staff meetings and participate in school and community programs.
