Responsibilities

• Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Assist in preparing and implementing school-wide activities.
• Maintain ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
• Participate in district in-service training to improve knowledge and skills.
• Attend staff meetings as needed.
• Work as part of a team.
• Assist with recess, lunch, bus duty and other duties.
• Prepare and organize instructional materials with teachers.
• Support students' safety and wellbeing.
• Serve as primary information source for substitutes.
• Implement behavioral programs in the absence of the teacher.
• Assist with clerical tasks for admin staff.
• Willingness to learn about students with special needs.
• Be sensitive to students, parents and staff needs.
• Work one-to-one and in small groups to support instruction.
• Supervise during drills, assemblies and field trips.
• Assist with lunch and snack routines.
• Inform teachers about student issues.
