Job summary

Brooke Charter Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher (Student Support Coordinator) to support students academically and personally. You will collaborate with staff to ensure appropriate accommodations, drive IEP/504 plans, and coordinate related services across classrooms.

The role includes drafting and maintaining IEPs, leading data-driven planning, and participating in substantial professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a special education teaching license.
• Working knowledge of federal and state special education laws.
• 2+ years as a lead teacher with focus on joyful classroom culture and high expectations.
• Dedication to diversity and anti-racist practices to empower students.
• Professional, warm and collaborative with students, families, and colleagues.
• Able to start in July 2027.

Responsibilities

• Teach daily support classes in math, science, life skills, and/or literacy.
• Draft, implement and maintain IEPs and 504 plans.
• Co-lead child study team meetings and coordinate test accommodations and related services.
• Participate in regular data meetings and extensive professional development (~300 hours/year).
