Job summary

Arlington Classics Academy in Arlington, TX seeks a Special Education Teacher to support students with diverse needs. The role reports to the campus principal and operates on a 187-day calendar with salary scales plus a $3000 high-needs stipend.

Qualified candidates hold a Texas SPED EC-12 certificate, STR EC-6/ELAR 4-8, and Dyslexia training. HB Reading Academy completion is preferred. The position requires collaboration on ARD meetings and implementation of IEP goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Texas teaching certificate with SPED endorsements.
• HB Reading Academy completion required or after hire.
• Dyslexia training preferred.
• STR Certification EC-6, ELAR 4-8 required; SPED EC-12 required.
• ESL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through ARD.
• Deliver instruction to students with dyslexia using district-approved program with fidelity.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials reflecting diverse learning styles.
• Modify regular curricula and assist SPED students in regular classes as needed.
• Participate in ARD Committee meetings regularly.
• Assess student learning styles and use results to plan activities.
• Present material according to IEP guidelines.
• Employ varied instructional techniques and media to meet student needs.
• Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
• Use technology in the teaching/learning process.
