Justice Resource Institute is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the River Run Academy in Thompson, CT. The role emphasizes delivering trauma-informed education to adolescents with diverse needs within a residential setting.

You will work a Monday–Friday schedule, 7:30 AM–3:30 PM, with school-year calendar time off. Compensation ranges from $52,000 to $94,000 annually, reflective of experience and licensure, with full benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Special Education and CT State Certification as a Special Educator.
• Minimum requirement: 1 year teaching experience in residential settings is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain BCC and American Red Cross CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Support safety and well-being of students, staff, and the program.
• Provide crisis interventions to assist students in feeling safe.
• Provide emergency coverage for the program when needed.
• Develop Special Intervention Plans for students in the classroom.
• Align lesson plans to Ct. Common Core State Standards.
