Job summary

Laurel Hall School is seeking a compassionate Special Education Teacher for the Frederick Campus. The role involves supporting students with diverse needs, delivering individualized instruction, and contributing to IEP goals within a collaborative team.

Qualified candidates may begin with provisional certification pathways while completing teacher preparation, and prior experience in education or behavioral health is a plus. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday with a 7:30 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

• Maryland teaching certification in Special Education or eligibility through an approved pathway.
• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction aligned with student IEPs and individual learning needs.
• Develop lesson plans and classroom materials to promote growth.
• Monitor and document academic and behavioral progress.
• Use proactive behavior management strategies and de‑escalation when needed.
• Create a safe, structured, therapeutic learning environment.
• Collaborate with families, educators, and behavioral health professionals.

Skills

BLS/CPR and First Aid certified

Valid driver's license

Education
