Laurel Hall in Frederick, MD is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - Behavior Specialist to support students with special needs during a 8:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Friday schedule. Position Summary

In this role, you will work closely with teachers and the education team to implement behavior management strategies, provide instructional support, and help create a safe and positive learning environment.

• Support teachers with classroom instruction and daily activities.
• Model appropriate behavior and responsible use of technology.
• Implement behavior management strategies and interventions.
• Complete required documentation and behavioral data collection accurately and timely.
• Provide instructional support under the direction of classroom teachers.
• Interact with students in a positive, supportive, and professional manner.
• Utilize approved de-escalation and intervention techniques when necessary.
• Maintain professional boundaries with students, families, and staff.
• Attend team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
• Ensure continuous student supervision and maintain dependable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children with special needs.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in educational, behavioral health, or special education settings.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform CPR and approved intervention techniques.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and actively engage with students throughout the workday.
• Willingness to transport students in a company vehicle as needed.
• Ability to maintain consistent on-site attendance.
