Job summary

Otsego Public Schools is seeking a Washington Street Elementary Special Education Teacher (Full-Time Level 1) to join our elementary staff starting immediately.

The ideal candidate holds a Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with Special Education endorsement, has experience in Level 1 SPED and elementary, and is committed to collaborative planning, IEP development, and supporting diverse learners within approved curricula.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Otsego Public Schools’ staff is the heart of the district, and we are looking to add a Special Education teacher to our elementary staff.

Primary tasks (non-exhaustive list)

• Instruct students with special needs in core content using a variety of techniques, such as pull out intervention groups and push in support into the general education classroom in order to meet students' varying needs.
• Collaborate with other teachers or administrators to develop, evaluate, or revise secondary school programs.
• Confer with other staff members to plan or schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
• Confer with parents, administrators, social workers, or other professionals to develop individual educational plans (IEPs) for students' educational, physical, or social development.

Requirements:

• Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate, with Special Education endorsement
• Experience in level 1 special education preferred
• Experience at the elementary level preferred
