Job summary

Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD) is seeking a Licensed Special Education Teacher for an intensive SEL program at Levi Anderson Learning Center in Beaverton. You will design and deliver IEP-based instruction within a self-contained K-12 behavioral setting and collaborate with mental health professionals to support student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field; Master's preferred.
• Current Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsement or ability to obtain.
• Experience in development and implementation of IEPs.
• Experience teaching students with behavior and emotional disorders.
• Valid Driver's License; transportation and auto insurance.
• Bilingual and biliteracy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Adapt and modify curriculum to meet student needs.
• Provide direct instruction tailored to individual learning styles.
• Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff.
• Implement instructional programs addressing IEP goals.
• Use behavioral and instructional strategies to help students achieve goals.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies.
• Participate in progress staffing for identified students.
• Conduct assessments and contribute to IEP goals.
• Foster a positive classroom atmosphere supporting social-emotional growth.
• Communicate with parents/guardians regularly about progress.
• Attend professional development to stay current in best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
