Job summary

Northwest Independent School District is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide instruction and support for students with disabilities. You will develop or modify curricula and prepare lessons aligned with student ability levels.

Work in self-contained, team, departmental, or itinerant capacities as assigned, providing special education consultation and instruction to meet student needs. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree, valid Texas SPED certification, and the ability to work

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and valid Texas SPED certificate.
Familiarity with ARD committee process and IEP goal setting.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with students, parents, and staff to develop IEPs through the ARD process.
Implement instructional or therapeutic programs and document preparation.
Plan and adapt curricula to student needs and learning styles.
Modify regular curricula and assist students in regular classes when needed.
Participate in ARD committee meetings and assessment planning.
Plan, deliver, and assess instruction using varied strategies and media.
Supervise teacher aides and volunteers as assigned.
Use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
Maintain records and meet regulatory requirements.
Attend faculty meetings and participate on committees.
