Job summary

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and a valid Illinois teaching license with the appropriate endorsements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Complete CPS online application and teaching profile at cps.edu/teach.
• Illinois State Board of Education teaching license with appropriate endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Within CPS Teaching Framework, refine teaching practice to meet student needs.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures.
• Respond to diverse student needs with engaging instruction and appropriately challenging questions and assessments.
• Exhibit strong communication, interpersonal skills, and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through adherence to the Student Code of Conduct and school-wide systems.
• Personalize student learning through mastery of curriculum resources and technology as available.
• Advocate for the district’s equity and high-expectation themes.
