Job summary

Chicago Public Schools is seeking qualified teachers to deliver instruction, monitor progress, and manage classrooms in alignment with CPS Framework for Teaching. A valid Illinois teaching license with LBS1 endorsement is required.

Under supervision of the school principal, you will collaborate with case managers and counselors to support students’ academic and social needs, while upholding equity and high expectations in a diverse urban setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution.
• Valid Illinois teaching license with LBS1 endorsement.
• Completion of CPS online application and teaching profile on cps.edu/teach.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a deep understanding of content, pedagogy, and student knowledge to design learning objectives and cohesive instruction and assessments.
• Create a respectful classroom culture with strong management of student behaviors and procedures, embracing diverse student backgrounds.
• Respond to the needs of all students by designing engaging instruction with appropriately challenging questions and aligned assessments.
• Exhibit excellent communication and professional judgment in interactions with administration, colleagues, families, and students.
• Prioritize student safety through school-wide systems of conduct and discipline.
• Personalize learning through curriculum materials and technology resources as available.
• Advocate for the district’s vision and equity-focused themes.
