Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher for Gaithersburg High School. You will provide direct instruction and support to students with disabilities, collaborating with general education teachers to monitor progress and outcomes.

The role requires assisting in IEP development, data collection, and adapting instruction to meet diverse needs. Occasional attendance at meetings outside the instructional day is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education from an accredited college.
• Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements for SPC I in special education.
• Knowledge of IEP, learning theory, differentiated instruction, data collection, and assessment.
• Experience with ESSA/IDEA and related policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion.
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities; track progress.
• Assist in development and implementation of IEPs.
• Attend school meetings, programs, and activities outside instructional day as required.
