Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a Special Education teacher at Gaithersburg High School to provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities, in collaboration with the general education teacher, and to monitor and evaluate outcomes.

The role includes assisting in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), participating in school activities beyond instructional hours as required, and applying MCPS curriculum standards and behavioral

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in special education from an accredited college or university.
• Student teaching in the area of exceptionality or two years teaching experience.
• Certification in special education (SPC I) meets Maryland requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction and instructional support to students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with the general education teacher to support all learners.
• Assist in development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Monitor and evaluate outcomes for students with disabilities.
