BASIS DC is seeking qualified Special Education Teachers to oversee IEP-based instruction in self-contained classrooms in Washington, DC. Candidates must hold a valid DC Special Education certificate issued by OSSE and demonstrate collaboration with general education staff.

The role encompasses IEP meetings, case management, and delivering specially designed instruction while maintaining accurate student records and compliance with regulations.

Competenze

• Valid Special Education certificate in relevant jurisdiction.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card and/or satisfactory applicable state background check.

Mansioni

• Work with students with disabilities in small group settings or 1:1 setting.
• Interact directly with assigned students to fulfill IEP requirements.
• Fulfill provisions in student plans, including service minutes, by providing specially designed instruction and related services.
• Provide instructional interventions and academic support to individual students or small groups.
• Coordinate IEP team meetings, parent communication, and program development.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education requirements and document progress.
