Job summary

Gresham-Barlow School District 10J seeks a Teacher - Special Education for the 2026-2027 school year. This 1.00 FTE, 195/196 day contract position is based in the Student Support Services Office and offers a pathway to support diverse learners in a least restrictive environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Oregon Special Education teaching license and a current First Aid Card, with duties spanning IEPs, progress reports, and collaboration with families and staff. Open until filled.

Qualifications

• State of Oregon Teaching License with Special Education endorsement.
• First Aid Card is required.
• Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing: Teaching Credential for Special Education; First aid/CPR; Fingerprint clearance.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students with individualized special needs to develop academics, social, and daily living skills.
• Manage classroom and student behavior to provide a safe learning environment.
• Prepare materials and reports (IEPs, FBA/BIPs, grades, attendance) to document progress.
• Assess students for eligibility into special education.
• Collaborate with staff and community agencies to maximize student outcomes.
• Direct instructional assistants and volunteers to support the program.
