Job summary

Montgomery Public Schools seeks a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing/Blind to provide a free and appropriate public education for students with hearing impairments. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with an endorsement in Hearing Impairment and complete required background checks. Salary is pro-rated based on contract days left in the school year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with endorsement in Hearing Impairment.

Responsibilities

• Provide free and appropriate public education to students with hearing impairments.
• Deliver services including sign language and assistive technology.
• Administer standardized tests for IEP and eligibility purposes.
• Participate in Referral, Eligibility and IEP committees.
• Write and implement IEPs.
• Coordinate services with other agencies and communicate with parents.
• Perform other duties assigned by the principal or special education director.
