Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or related field; master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Instruction Plans (IEP-based) for each student.
• Develop classroom goals and objectives reflecting the IEP.
• Provide direct and/or consultative instruction per IEP.
• Maintain knowledge of best practices in deaf/deafblind education.
• Consult in CVI clinic when requested.
• Provide training for interveners on deafblind practices and communication.
• Coach and observe interveners and give feedback on programs.
• Collaborate with teachers and TVIs to implement IEP goals and accommodations.
• Participate in DeafBlind Resource Team and school-wide programming.
• Partner with specialty teachers to develop and implement student programs.
• Participate in yearly IEP meetings.
• Stay current with developments in deaf education.
• Attend in-service trainings and professional learning communities.
• Maintain required certifications and licensure.
• Ensure safe and age-appropriate environments for students.
