Job summary

Grand Rapids Public Schools in Grand Rapids, Michigan seeks a Teacher Consultant to ensure scholars have access to the general education curriculum and can make progress in their learning goals.

You will consult with general and special education staff, scholars, and administration, coordinating with building teams to support programming and behavioral success under the direction of a Special Education Supervisor/Principal.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education or a field related to special education
• Minimum of three consecutive years of highly effective or effective teaching in a special education program
• Current endorsement in any area of special education or eligibility per MARSE R340.1749

Responsibilities

• Consult with general education and special education staff, scholars, and administration to support programming and progress in the general curriculum.
• Coordinate and network with building teams to ensure appropriate consideration of academic and behavioral supports.
• Provide supervision under the Special Education Supervisor/Principal and support IEP/Service Plan development and eligibility processes.

Education

Master’s degree in education or a field of study related to special education

Minimum of three (3) consecutive years of highly effective or effective teaching experience in a special education program

Possess a current endorsement in any area of special education or is eligible for endorsement according to R340.1749 in MARSE
