Job summary

The position requires a Master’s degree with a focus on special education, Michigan K-12 certification, and expertise in IEPs and Behavior Support Plans, plus regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a focus on special education.
• Michigan K-12 special education certificate.
• Familiarity with IEPs and Behavior Support Plans.
• Knowledge of state, local, and federal regulations and policies affecting special education.
• Strong organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional and evaluation services to students.
• Consult with staff on instructional methods, evaluation, time management and conflict resolution.
• Participate in IEP meetings as assigned.
• Coordinate program/curriculum design, development and implementation.
• Coordinate assigned student activities and behavior plans.
• Prepare reports to document or evaluate programs and duties.
• Stay up-to-date on current methodologies for instructional programs for students with disabilities.
• Collaborate with parents, administrators, testing specialists and social workers to develop IEPs.
