Job summary

Ypsilanti Community Schools seeks a Special Education Resource Room - Teacher Consultant to collaborate with general education staff, plan instruction, and provide necessary support for students with special needs. You will develop appropriate programming and monitor progress within the caseload.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate certification.
• Special Education endorsement.
• Two years teaching experience, at least one year in special education.
• Master's degree required for Teacher Consultant position.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with general education teachers to develop appropriate programming for students with special needs.
• Provide instruction in the general education classroom to help students succeed in their educational programs.
• Assist in developing instructional behavior plans including positive intervention strategies and instruction in appropriate social and classroom behaviors.
• Evaluate and report on the achievement and personal adjustment of students on the caseload.
• Lead and participate in child study teams, behavior support teams, IEPCs, 504 meetings, building committees and staff meetings.
