Job summary

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher for the Cognitive Impairment (CI) program at Discovery Middle School. The teacher will support equitable, differentiated instruction and collaborate with general education teachers.

Candidates must hold a Michigan K-5 and CI endorsement, have MTSS and co-teaching experience, and work with students with emotional/behavioral disabilities while coordinating paraprofessional schedules.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate with the Cognitive Impairment (SA) endorsement and the Elementary K-5 endorsement.
• Endorsement to work with students who have disabilities under the relevant Rules.
• Experience with co-teaching and the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities.
• Experience with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities.
• Willingness to collaborate with general education teachers to plan and implement lessons.
• Experience coordinating activities and schedules for classroom paraprofessionals.

POSITION: Special Education Teacher – Cognitive Impairment (CI) Program

LOCATION: Discovery Middle School

Plymouth-Canton is seeking to employ culturally responsive educators who will be able to support and sustain equity-focused instruction for all learners. They identify and systematically apply differentiated instruction and assessment that improves achievement for all learners from all racial groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Requires a valid Michigan teaching certificate with the Cognitive Impairment (SA) endorsement and the Elementary K-5 endorsement
• Possess an endorsement to work with students who have disabilities pursuant to Rules 340.1781, 340.1782, and 340.1786 of the Revised Administrative Rules for Special Education.

Experience with co-teaching and providingtheleastrestrictiveenvironmentforstudents with disabilities.

Must have appropriate experience with students presenting emotional and behavioral disabilities.

Must be willing to work with general education teachers to plan, implement and organize lessons together.

Must have experience coordinating activities and schedule for classroom paraprofessional.
