Gwinnett County Public Schools seeks a Teacher AUT-Severe Level I - Special Education to deliver instruction aligned with the AKS curriculum and IEP goals, providing direct and specially designed instruction to students with disabilities.

Collaborate with general educators, administer assessments, and help students develop academically and socially in a supportive classroom environment. Requires Georgia certification and a Bachelor's degree in education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in applicable field of education from a PSC-approved college or university
• Knowledge of AKS curriculum and integration with IEPs
• IDEA/IDEIA compliance and special education requirements

Responsabilités

• Plan and provide learning experiences based on AKS curriculum and create environments conducive to students' development
• Provide direct instruction and specially designed instruction per IEPs
• Consult with classroom teachers and administrators to develop and maintain academic and behavioral plans
• Participate as an active member of the school faculty and perform shared duties
• Conduct in-service programs on special education topics and IDEA guidelines
• Collaborate with regular educators to support students with disabilities in regular classrooms
• Develop instructional objectives and plan instruction to promote mastery of prerequisite skills
• Assess student learning and provide feedback to students and parents on progress
• Monitor and adjust instruction based on formative assessment results
• Oversee assessment activities and interpret results for parents and staff
• Organize classroom content and implement research-based instructional strategies
• Maintain thorough documentation to comply with due process and local/state requirements
