Reports To: Building Principal

Classification: Paraprofessional (Clerical/Teacher Assistant)

Wage/Hour Status: Non‑exempt

Days: 188

Salary: See Compensation Plan for Paraprofessional/Administrative Support Staff, Pay Grade 203

Primary Purpose

Assist teachers, both SPED and GEN ED, and students who require special education services in the special education and general education settings.

Qualifications / Education / Certification
  • Minimum 48 college hours or high school diploma/equivalent plus pass a District Assessment.
  • Educational Aide Certification.
Special Knowledge / Skills
  • Ability to work with children using appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Background related to working with children and parents.
  • Physical capacity to lift, transfer and otherwise assist students with physical disabilities (e.g., ability to lift 50 lbs.).
  • Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
  • Knowledge regarding Autism and/or behavior preferred.
  • Bus driver training as needed, or as required.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
