Job summary

Sage Alliance Schools in New Jersey is seeking a dedicated Special Education teacher for a self-contained classroom serving grades 2-4, focusing on students with emotional self-regulation and behavioral needs. You will develop engaging lessons aligned with standards and foster a safe, inquiry-driven learning environment.

The role requires NJ certification (Special Education K-12), a bachelor's degree in a related field, differentiated instruction, strong communication, and experience with BIPs.

Qualifications

• Requires state teaching certificate (Special Education K-12) in NJ.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Subject area certification and/or relevant classroom experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and student-centered learning.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Experience with Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) is preferred.
• Self-contained teaching experience is a plus.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training in verbal de-escalation and restraint is desirable.

In this role, you will be responsible for a special education classroom (grades 2-4) designed for students who struggle with emotional self-regulation, anxiety, and/or behavioral challenges.

What You’ll Need
