Job summary

Sage Alliance Schools in New Jersey seeks a dedicated special education teacher for grades 2-4 focused on emotional regulation, anxiety, and behavior support. You will design differentiated lessons, create a safe classroom, and document progress for families and staff.

Responsibilities include delivering standards-aligned instruction, collaborating with colleagues, and maintaining accurate records while engaging families.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid NJ teaching certification in Special Education K-12.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Subject area certification and/or relevant classroom experience.
• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and student-centered learning.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Experience with Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs).
• Self-contained teaching experience.
• CPI Training in verbal de-escalation and restraint.

In this role, you will be responsible for a special education classroom (grades 2-4) designed for students who struggle with emotional self-regulation, anxiety, and/or behavioral challenges.

What You’ll Need

• Valid New Jersey teaching certification (Special Education K-12)

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• Subject area certification and/or relevant classroom experience

• Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and student-centered learning

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills

• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training in verbal de-escalation and restraint
