Qualifications

Onward Search Education is partnering with a school district in Maricopa County, Arizona to hire a Special Education Teacher for the 2026/2027 school year. This is an on-site role supporting students in a Elementary resource room model, providing targeted, specialized instruction to help students build skills and access the general education curriculum.

Position Details:

• Job Title: Special Education Teacher
• Location: On-site
• Hours: 40 hours/week (8 hours/day)
• Pay: $51-$55/ hour
• Schedule: Full-time (typical school-day schedule)
• School Year: 2026/2027
• Start Date: Immediately

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction in a resource room/pull-out setting (small group and/or individual support).
• Develop and implement IEPs aligned to student needs and campus expectations.
• Deliver targeted interventions and progress-monitor toward IEP goals; maintain accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support accommodations, modifications, and inclusive practices.
• Partner with families, related service providers, and campus teams to support student growth and compliance.
• Maintain a supportive, structured learning environment that promotes student independence and confidence.

Qualifications:

• Special Education teaching experience (resource room experience preferred).
• Active Special Education teaching certification (or ability to obtain in Arizona).
• Knowledge of IEP development, compliance, and service delivery best practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and school teams.
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet district/state onboarding requirements.
