Sign‑On Bonus

We are offering a Sign‑On bonus for Special Education Teachers.

• Licensed Special Education Teacher: $5,000 Sign‑On Bonus ($1,000 after successful completion of orientation; $2,000 after 120 days; $2,000 after 180 days)
• Non‑Licensed Special Education Teacher: $2,500 Sign‑On Bonus ($500 after successful completion of orientation; $1,000 after 120 days; $1,000 after 180 days)

Overview

At Latham Centers, we’re committed to setting our teachers up for success, whether you’re experienced or just beginning to explore the field of special education. Our classrooms are intentionally designed, with approximately seven students supported by one teacher & one aide, allowing for meaningful, individualized instruction. We offer flexibility that’s rare in traditional school settings, including five weeks (six weeks in your second year) of PTO you can use when it works best for you. If you’re not yet licensed, we’ll support you by covering MTEL costs & guiding you through the licensure process. As a residential campus, teachers can focus primarily on student growth within the school environment, with less day‑to‑day parent coordination. You’ll also have access to ongoing professional development to keep building your skills.

Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: Brewster, MA
Compensation: $54,540 – $71,000

Key Responsibilities

• Develop classroom schedules & implement daily academic lesson plan
• Plan activities for school vacations & summer school recreational programming
• Assist in writing & implementing school curriculum
• Write & implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Design & implement pre‑vocational & vocational curriculum within the daily schedule
• Understand & implement the school behavior management program
• Design & implement individualized & group behavior management plans
• Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, & supervision
• Maintain knowledge of MCAS testing requirements, including accommodations & alternative assessment portfolios
• Gather MCAS documentation & create portfolios for spring submission
• Track student progress, complete semi‑annual report cards, & prepare annual student transcripts
• Complete weekly, quarterly, & annual reports
• Maintain & organize classroom supplies & equipment
• Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor, including occasional emergency responsibilities related to the role

Requirements

• Must exhibit ambulatory ability sufficient to physically intervene in instances of extreme behavior that might jeopardize the safety of students & staff
• Basic computer skills
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field required
