Job summary

Scarborough Public Schools in Maine seeks Educational Technicians I–III for the 2026-27 school year to support students with disabilities under the special education team. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group instruction in academic, social, and life skills as directed by the special education teacher.
• Support students in inclusive classroom settings, ensuring access to curriculum and engagement in learning.
• Assist in modifying and adapting classroom materials to meet diverse student needs.
• Implement behavioral support plans, monitor progress, and assist with positive behavior interventions.
• Supervise students during transitions, lunch, recess and other activities, ensuring safety and well-being.
• Collect data on student progress and provide input to the special education team.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers and staff to ensure students receive appropriate support.
• Assist students with personal care tasks, including toileting, feeding, or mobility, if necessary.
• Attend professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices in special education support.
