Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional III to support instructional programs in Special Education. You will assist in small group and individual settings, reinforce learning concepts, and monitor student behavior under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role requires assisting with various activities, including preparing instructional materials, promoting social development, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math, including fractions, percents, and ratios.
• Ability to read and write clearly and present information to others.
• Strong collaboration and communication with teachers and staff.
• Ability to analyze situations and make sound decisions with guidance.
• Experience supporting students with learning and behavioral goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing and presenting instructional materials.
• Support students with learning, self-care, and social development.
• Attend meetings and trainings as needed.
• Communicate student progress to teachers for needs assessments.
• Document observations and maintain written records of student performance.
• Escort students and ensure their welfare.
• Guide students in personal interactions and problem solving.
• Maintain instructional files and records.
• Monitor student performance and provide feedback per IEPs.
• Report health and safety issues to staff and appropriate authorities.
• Support students in various educational environments to ensure a safe learning space.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
