Job summary

Springfield Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional III to support instructional programs for students with disabilities. You will assist in small groups or individuals, reinforce learning concepts, and monitor student behavior under guidance of licensed staff.

Responsibilities include preparing materials, reporting progress, attending trainings, and maintaining records to comply with district and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 60 college hours completed and relevant job experience preferred.
• Must obtain Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate and maintain safety training.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred; pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in adapting and presenting instructional materials.
• Support students’ learning, behavior goals and social development.
• Attend meetings and communicate student progress with teachers.
• Document observations and maintain written records per requirements.
• Escort and supervise students to ensure welfare and safety.
• Provide support in various educational environments and adhere to IEPs.
