Job summary

Orange Grove Center seeks an Exceptional Education Assistant to support students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a structured school setting. You will assist in implementing IEP/ISP/BIP/ICSP plans, promote independence, and maintain a safe, inclusive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience with children or adults with IDD, special education, behavioral support, childcare, healthcare, or human services preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; patience and compassion are essential.
• CPR, First Aid, CPI certifications must be obtained and maintained per policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and individualized support to students throughout the school day.
• Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, offering one-on-one and small-group support.
• Support communication, social interaction, problem-solving, and life-skill development per IEP/ISP/BIP/ICSP as applicable.
• Maintain student safety, document attendance and progress, and communicate concerns to staff and families.
