Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Six documented semester hours of coursework in early childhood education, OR two years of work experience in an early childhood setting.
• CPI certification and ongoing renewal requirements; CPI training provided if needed.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred.
• Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to teachers in coordinating instructional programs for special education students.
• Assist with strategies related to behavioral intervention plans and student safety.
• Prepare materials and ensure resources align with lesson plans.
• Demonstrate professional skills to support student achievement and school programs.
• Coordinate student transitions and assist with health care needs as required.
• Assist with low- and high-tech assistive technology and AAC devices.
