Job summary

Peoria Unified School District is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Exceptional Student Services team as Instructional Assistants for a Specialized Program. You will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, provide individualized attention, and help students access the general education curriculum.

The role involves implementing IEP accommodations, assisting with daily living activities, data recording, and behavior support under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with students with disabilities.
• Experience supporting classrooms.
• Familiarity with IEPs and related services.

Responsibilities

• Support the diverse needs of students with disabilities on campus.
• Assist students across multiple settings to complete tasks with accommodations.
• Foster the development of workplace skills and positive behaviors.
• Provide proactive support in monitoring and redirecting student behaviors.
• Aid students in utilizing assistive technology.
• Lead individual and small group activities under teacher direction.
• Maintain accurate documentation for student records.
• Assist students with activities of daily living, including eating, dressing, toileting, and mobility tasks.
• Support implementation of individual student programs for behavior, sensory needs, and academics.
• Perform additional duties such as playground or cafeteria monitoring.
