Job summary

Los Alamos Public Schools seeks an Educational Assistant specialized to support students with disabilities in Mountain Elementary. The role involves assisting licensed staff with individualized interventions, daily living activities, and safety and mobility tasks as needed.

Licensure through NM PED is required; deadlines are posted until filled. The position is 1.0 FTE, 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week, Aug 4, 2026 to May 28, 2027. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Completion of the twelfth grade or equivalent.
• Possession of NM driver’s license and required licenses for Educational Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provide significant personal care and interventions as directed by licensed staff.
• Assist instructors and students with IEP development and progress reporting.
• Maintain classroom safety and assist during recess and special events.
• Respond to questions from students and parents and refer complex issues to staff.
• Perform custodial duties to maintain a clean learning environment.

Education

New Mexico driver’s license
