Job summary

Los Alamos Public Schools in Los Alamos, NM seeks an Educational Assistant Specialized Support Mountain Posting 710 to assist students aged 6-22 with disabilities requiring specialized training. You will support the special education team and provide personal care and instructional assistance.

This full-time position provides a $19.13/hour rate and follows the 193-day contract August 4, 2026 to May 28, 2027, with licensure requirements paid through the district.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of the 12th grade or equivalent.
• NM PED Educational Assistant license and Substitute Teacher license may be required.
• Demonstrated ability to support students with disabilities and follow specialized instruction.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantial individual interventions or personal care beyond age peers as needed.
• Participate in ongoing specialized training with the instructional team.
• Ensure student safety and manage classroom activities in variety of settings.
• Assist in preparation of materials and support development of Individualized Education Programs.
• Support daily living skills and assist with behavior plans as required.
